Preparation and site conditions

Laminate is less forgiving than rigid vinyl over uneven subfloors — dips cause hollow spots and stressed joints. We flatten the substrate, check fastener depth, and confirm the subfloor is dry before installation.

Material acclimates in the room before installation, and we hold consistent expansion gaps so seasonal movement does not peak or gap the field. Laminate is not our recommendation for bathrooms or laundry rooms with standing-water risk.

Timelines

Laminate is usually the fastest of the four materials to install once prep is done. Most bedroom or living-room projects finish inside a day or two; a whole floor plan takes longer with demolition and trim.

Scope changes are handled as written change orders, priced and approved by you before work continues. Our installation carries a 1-year craftsmanship warranty; the material carries its manufacturer warranty.

Floor covering replacement in an existing home generally does not require a permit in Treasure Valley jurisdictions. If your project includes work that does, we tell you at estimate time.
